Sylhet Jamaat hosts Iftar program
Sylhet Correspondent :Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Sylhet arranged a Iftar party on Saturday afternoon at the Malancho Community Centre in the Sylhet in honor of the distinguished peoples of the society including the politicians, intellectuals, lawyers, university teachers, poet, literature and cultural personalities, journalists, former military and civil high officials, doctor, engineers, religious leaders, businessmen, agriculturists etc.
Sylhet City Ameer Advocate Ahsanul Mahbub jubayer presided the program.
In his address, Advocate Ahsanul Mahbub jubayer said, in these kinds of Iftar program, who are used to attend you, are not present here as the incumbent autocratic government has detained them for last 5 years. He further said, the month of Ramadan is that holy month in which the holy Quran has been revealed. Quran is the lighthouse and the sacred thing that differentiate the truth and the falsehood. Taqwa is immensely needed to understand the real spirit of Quran and this Ramadan has been made mandatory in order to attain this Taqwa.
He said, the nation is undergoing amid severe crisis now. Public life and property is not safe now. Panic and fear is prevailing everywhere. Instead of maintaining law and order, the law enforcers are being used to oppress the dissidents. Subsequently, the enforcement agencies are becoming involved with various crimes including rapes and robbery.
he thanked all the participants presence in the Iftar program. At the last end, he also offered prayer for the success and welfare of the country as well as for the Muslim Ummah.
Among others, Dr. Shahriur Hossain Chawdhury, Advocate Mawlana Abdur Rakib, Professor Fozlur Rahman, Mawlana Habibur Rahman, Mawlana Anwar Hossain Khan, Mawlana Mahmudul Hasan, Abdul Malik Chawdhury, Mahbubur Rahman Khaled, Anisur Rahman, Panal Mayor Rajaul Hasan Koyes ludy, Upazilla Chairman Joynal Abedin, Saifullah Al Hossain, Hafij Najmul Islam, Vice Chairman and others were also present in the program.
